Khalid remains adamant, dodges queries on Azizah

Khalid Ibrahim has once again insisted on remaining as Selangor menteri besar until the next general election despite fresh speculation that he would be replaced after Hari Raya.

At a press conference today, he said following Pakatan Rakyat's landslide win in Selangor in the last election, he wanted to "take time" to fulfill the election promises made to the people.

"This is the Ramadan month. I have said before that I want to stay until the end of my term like I have promised the people of Selangor.

"I have taken an oath to manage this state until the next election," he added, despite coming under intense pressure from factions in his own party to step down.

Meanwhile, Khalid also evaded questions regarding the possibility of PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail replacing him.

"I don't want to comment, If I comment then there'll be more problems," he said while laughing.

Some PKR leaders have even openly called for Khalid’s resignation.

His policies have also come under attack from the state DAP leadership of late, further casting doubts on his future.

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim appeared to drop a hint that a decision regarding the MB post is imminent as it is being discussed by the Pakatan Rakyat leadership.

Khalid's position has been the subject of speculation ever since PKR announced the Kajang move in February, which eventually did not materialise due to Anwar's sodomy conviction on March 8.

But Khalid remains unfazed.

"I am used to this pressure," he said briefly when asked about the criticisms against his administration today.
