Najib's scolding like water off duck's back for Bung

DAP national vice-chairperson Teresa Kok lashed out at Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin for not learning his lesson even after being admonished by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

In a statement today, she condemned Bung’s tweet on Siti Fairah Asyikin Kamaruddin, also known as Kiki, whose video of in a rageafter an accident went viral over the Internet, for stereotyping  woman.

"It is obvious that the recalcitrant MP has not taken his reminder seriously.

"Maybe the prime minister should find out if Bung was not happy that he was outdone by Hafarizam Harun who made the sexist remark that Wan Azizah cannot become Selangor menteri besar because of hermenstrual cycle," the Seputeh MP quipped.

Using Kiki as an analogy, Bung yesterday justified a past argument in which he labelled most women drivers as hot tempered.

"This has not proven that he was right, but that he is a misogynist. Kiki’s action has nothing to do with race or gender.

"Bung's eagerness to use the incident to justify his past argument that most women drivers are hot tempered shows his misogynistic attitude," Kok (left) said.

'Tweet apology not sincere'

Kok also urged the Woman, Family and Community Development Minister Rohari Abdul Karim to take Bung to gender sensitization and counselling courses to stop him from causing further political embarrassment for the ruling coalition.

Bung has often landed himself in the limelight for his sexist and disparaging remarks and the recent one was when he hailed Hitler after Germany defeated Brasil 7-1 in a World Cup semifinal.

After Najib admonished the MP, he tweeted his “sincerest apology”, which many considered as being sarcastic.

MCA Youth also slammed him for tweeting an image of a green bra next to the capital letters “ZIL” to spell 'Brazil' to a female journalist.

Tracing back his long history of notorious sexist remarks, the Kinabatangan lawmaker also once complained in Parliament about Kok’s dress, saying that her knees were uncovered.

In 2007, he once caused a stir over his “bocor” (leakage) remark targeting a female MP’s menstrual cycle in the Parliament but later apologized for it.
