acate offices, Khusrin tells sacked excos

The six sacked DAP and PKR executive state council (exco) members have been told to vacate their offices in the state secretariat building with immediate effect.

According to Bernama, Selangor state secretary Mohamed Khusrin Munawi (right) said their sacking received the consent of the state ruler.

Khusrin, however, said that there was no set period of time given to the exco members (to vacate their offices).

“Their sacking was consented to by the sultan and starting from yesterday, they are no longer allowed to continue with their duties.

“As for now, there is no instruction on when they should vacate their offices. They are however allowed to go to their offices to tidy up their personal belongings,” he said.

Commenting on the sacked PKR and DAP exco members who had come to the secretariat building today, Khusrin said their presence did not involve official duties.

“Maybe they came to tidy up their things or to meet someone,” he said.

Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim yesterday fired the DAP and PKR exco members for not supporting him.

"I have written to the sultan to ask for the (six) exco members to not continue in their positions in the Selangor government," he had said.

The six are DAP's Ean Yong Hian Wah, V Ganabatirau and Teng Chang Khim as well as PKR’s Rodziah Ismail, Daroyah Alwi and Elizabeth Wong.

PAS' four exco members had been spared the axe as the party continues to support Khalid.

Earlier, Teng had questioned Khalid on this matter.

"Khalid always talks about protocol.

"I just want to know which protocol he had used in saying that our sacking was agreed by the sultan," he added.

Teng, later, replied with a curt “no” when asked by Malaysiakini whether he was ordered to vacate his office.

Rodziah, meanwhile, confirmed that the six had been ordered to vacate their offices.

“I will need to discuss with the other five exco members what the next step is,” she said.
