PKR has insisted that its president Dr Wan Azizah replace Khalid Ibrahim as Selangor menteri besar. But now, PAS has added another name to the equation.
After deliberating for two hours, the Islamic party's central committee disclosed that it supported Wan Azizah as well as her deputy Azmin Ali.
When contacted, Azmin declined to comment on PAS' decision for now since has not been formally informed about it.
The PKR deputy president toldMalaysiakini that he would issue a media statement after the Pakatan Rakyat leadership council this afternoon.
"This decision would be brought to the Pakatan meeting for discussion, only after that, I will give my statement," he said.
"We pray for the best," he added.
Previously, it was speculated that the deadlock over the MB post was because PAS had insisted that PKR name three candidates for the post and allow the sultan to choose.
However, Wan Azizah’s husband and PKR de facto leader was said to be adamant on his wife helming the state.
There was also speculation that PAS was informed that the sultan was opposed to Wan Azizah’s candidacy.
