CANNOT TALK BAD ABOUT NAJIB: Bung Mokhtar lodges police report against Surendran for ‘lies against Najib’
A complaint has been filed against Padang Serai MP N. Surendran for allegedly implying that Putrajaya was influencing the courts in fixing dates for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy case.
The police report was filed at Kinabatangan police headquarters by MP Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin, The Star Online reported today.
In the news report, Surendran was said to have allegedly made allegations in a video which was later uploaded onto YouTube.
"Surendran was seen questioning the Federal Court's decision and implying that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was fixing the dates for Anwar's sodomy appeal.
"He is purportedly bidding to cast Najib in a bad light," Bung Mokhtar was quoted as saying by the online news portal.

Bung Mokhtar, in the news report had highlighted alleged quotes by Surendran, who is Anwar's legal counsel in the sodomy case.
Surendran was alleged to have said: "This is an attempt to jail the opposition leader and we hold Najib personally responsible.
"We reiterate Najib to drop the charges against Anwar."
Bung Mokhtar said Surendran's statement was not only a lie but also aimed at embarrassing Najib, Malaysia and the judiciary.
"It implies that Najib is abusing his powers," Bung Mokhtar said.
The Star Online said besides the report against Surendran, Bung Mokhtar also lodged police reports against two other individuals, S. Krishnan and Hassan Karim.
These two men are alleged to have posted slanderous remarks via Twitter that the Sultan of Selangor was siding with embattled Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
Khalid has been embroiled in a tussle over the menteri besar position with PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Anwar was found guilty of sodomy charges by the appellate court in March this year and sentenced to five years jail.
However, the de facto PKR leader was granted a stay of the jail sentence, pending an appeal to the Federal Court, with bail set at RM10,000 in one surety.
The Federal Court has set October 28 and 29 to hear two appeals relating to Anwar's sodomy conviction.
Anwar is appealing against the Court of Appeal’s decision to convict him and sentence him to a five-year jail term on a sodomy charge.
The court also set October 14 to hear Anwar’s appeal to recuse lawyer, Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, from appearing as lead public prosecutor.
Meanwhile, Berita Harian reported today that at least 15 police reports had been lodged against Surendren over the same matter, with a large number of them coming from Umno divisions in Kedah.
The reports were filed after Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir described Surendren's statement as irresponsible and called on action to be taken against the Padang Serai MP. –TMI
