The Federal Court today allowed Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail's application to prosecute lawyer Datuk V. K. Lingam (pic) and 24 others for alleging that a Federal Court bench had plagiarised its judgment.
A five-man bench chaired by Tan Sri Suriyadi Halim Omar also allowed an application by the liquidators of Kian Joo Can Sdn Bhd (KJC) to withdraw commencing contempt action against Lingam and the 24.
This morning, the judges' task were made much easier as the respondents did not object to Gani taking over the case.
Lawyer Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram, who is appearing for Lingam, told the judges that his client would give evidence when the case starts on December 8.
