Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said today that the free water to the people of Selangor via the water-restructuring exercise will be his legacy to the state.
He said he wanted to leave his position as the menteri besar in a gentlemanly manner by leaving a legacy, such as what he had done during his Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) and Kumpulan Guthrie days.
"Since I received the people's mandate to helm Selangor in March 2008, I feel very grateful and privileged to be able to serve the people, the state and the nation.
"Just as my stint in PNB and Guthrie and if I can leave a legacy in Selangor, then I will consider my job to be a success," he told a crowd of 200 civil servants during a monthly assembly at Dewan Jubli Perak in Shah Alam today.
