Khalid's supporter sacked for burning PKR flag

PKR has has sacked a supporter of embattled Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim for burning the party flag and suspended several others.

The decision was arrived at the PKR disciplinary board meeting, which was then presented to the PKR leadership council chaired by party president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail yesterday.

PKR disciplinary board chairperson Tan Kee Kwong (right) said the member, Aidil Haryman Mat Nor, had posted on Facebook a photograph of him burning the party's flag.

The action, Tan said, gave the party a bad image and hurt its credibility in the eyes of the public.

"He also admitted the action of burning the party flag was a challenge for him to be sacked from the party," he said in a statement this morning.

Tan said four more PKR members from the Pasir Mas, Sepang, Selayang and Batu divisions respectively have been suspended and issued with a show-cause letter.

Supporting MB results in sacking

He said the members were involved in a press conference on Aug 20 by Pakatan Anak-Anak Selangor Menyokong Mentri Besar (Pasmeb) and other NGOs to support the sacked Khalid.

Khalid was Aug 9 booted out of the party for defying and instruction to step down as menteri besar.

PKR, which has found it difficult to work with him, wants to replace him with Wan Azizah.

Since then, Khalid's supporters, mostly PKR members, have formed NGOs supporting the party-less Khalid.
