MACC MOVES ONLY WHEN UMNO GIVES THE SIGNAL? Anti-graft agency mum on status of Khalid probe

MACC MOVES ONLY WHEN UMNO GIVES THE SIGNAL? Anti-graft agency mum on status of Khalid probe
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has refused to comment on its probe into the ongoing menteri besar tussle in Selangor.
Deputy MACC chief commissioner (Prevention) Mustafar Ali  told reporters today that he will not answer questions related to the issue for the time being.
This comes after Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim had lodged a report for the MACC to investigate allegations made against him.
"We will not answer that question, I'm sorry. We will only answer questions related to today's dialogue session," he said.
"I know it is a hot question. But we will discuss about it at a later session," he said.
Mustafar had earlier, together with representatives from small and medium enterprises, signed the corporate integrity pledge (CIP) at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy.
Khalid had last week lodged a report with the MACC, asking it to investigate issues surrounding his integrity as menteri besar in a bid to clear his name over allegations of misconduct by PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
A delegation, led by his chief private secretary Mohamad Yazid Bidin, had submitted a copy of a document tendered by Saifuddin during a recent press conference.
PKR had handed over a 91-page document to PAS and DAP leaders, citing “reasonable doubts” as to the resolution of Khalid’s out-of-court settlement with Bank Islam over a multi-million ringgit loan he took to purchase Guthrie shares.
The document reported how the settlement was allegedly hurried following the party’s move to oust him through the ‘Kajang Move’ last Jan 28.
