No new excos to be appointed yet

Khalid says the dismissal yesterday was done after he had obtained consent from the Sultan.

SHAH ALAM: No new appointments to the Selangor Executive Council will be made for the time being, Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim said today.

Speaking to reporters after chairing this morning’s exco meeting, he said there would be another meeting tomorrow, after which he would issue a statement.

He said the excos he dismissed yesterday would be invited to tomorrow’s meeting, adding that they would be given time to hand over their responsibilities to the four PAS councillors he had retained.

He clarified that he announced the sacking yesterday only after the Sultan of Selangor had consented to it.

Khalid also said councillor Roziah Ismail of PKR would be asked to choose whether she wants to remain in the exco when she returns from overseas.
