Selangor crisis - a repeat of Perak in 2009?

YOURSAY ‘Umno is likely to use crooked tricks similar to the ones it used in Perak.’

Fearing water deal flop, BN backs Khalid

Anonymous_3faa: The gauntlet has been thrown, and by no less than Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim and his BN supporters. This is the first time in Malaysian politics that the BN has thrown their support behind an opposition-elected MB.

The bulls**t that the BN mentioned that they are doing it for the sake of the people of Selangor hides the real reasons behind their unequivocal support for Khalid, which is to take over Selangor ala Perak, as well as the pocket change from the water deal.

Pakatan Rakyat must take up the challenge head on or else it's au revoir for them. Either way, Khalid is finished. He has made the biggest mistake - betraying the Selangor voters who voted for Pakatan.

And if PAS wavers and becomes fickle-minded, they too will meet their demise in Selangor in the next election.

Pemerhati: The root cause of this crisis is money. Khalid had a RM66 million problem with Bank Islam and Umno probably solved that for him and thus turned him into its obedient lackey.

For that favour, Khalid has to pay back Umno by allowing it to implement its mega projects such as Langat 2 water treatment plant and Kidex (Kinrara-Damansara Expressway) and enable it to get much more of the people’s money by the usual method of giving overpriced negotiated contracts to cronies and then getting huge kickbacks.

The Sultan of Selangor’s close family members too make easy millions by getting favourably negotiated contracts (for example,Shah Alam Hospital) from Umno.

Thus money is the glue that binds the interests of Khalid, Umno and the sultan. Hence these three parties will now act in unison to safeguard and promote their interests. Umno is likely to use crooked tricks similar to the ones it used in Perak to ensure that Khalid remains as MB.

Jiminy Qrikert: So now it starts. What will PAS do? This assumes that all 15 DAP state assembly representatives and 13 PKR reps will reject Khalid as MB.

At this point, it really does not matter how many PAS reps will also reject Khalid and break ranks with their leaders. What will happen now is the rakyat will witness if PAS is indeed as treacherous as their actions have so far demonstrated.

It would not have come to this if PAS had stood by PKR and DSAI (Anwar Ibrahim) and soundly rejected Khalid from the start. So either way, PAS now joins Umno as scum of the earth for causing this.

Ferdtan: It not surprising that BN supports Khalid. Didn’t we say, “We told you so.” If PAS is with BN, then at least they don’t need to be hypocrites by pretending to be Pakatan’s friends while sabotaging them at the same time.

With this, the picture can be clearer. Friends and foes are easily identified. Come next general election, BN may win but we shall have the consolation of PAS as a political party wiped out from the face of the country.

KSN: DPM Muhyiddin Yassin, this agreement about water if it is a transparent deal for the benefit of our people, why should the change of MB affect the deal?

Unless of course, cronies have been lined up to reap those benefits at the expense of the taxpayers.

Hang Tuah PJ: I agree with KSN. If PAS working with Umno causes Selangor to fall to BN, this will be the last time I will vote PAS.

For all their rhetoric on religious values, if they do not understand that for Selangorians it is ‘Anything but Umno’, then I believe PAS will no longer be a party to be reckoned with in Selangor.

Talking about religious values, please start with practising some. I am a Khalid supporter but Khalid can be sacrificed as long as Selangor remains a Pakatan-led state.

Swot Strategist: I will give Anwar the credit for being one of nature's world-class leaders who survives on Malaysian soil by opening up inroads for political challenges that is good of our country.

"It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change," said by Charles Darwin.

In the eyes of all civilised races in Malaysia, nature has gifted Anwar to be a great man even if he may die in jail. Many failed to understand that putting up his wife to replace Khalid was not his natural choice.

Nature can survive without us but we can't survive without nature.

Anonymous_1Ingrate: It is not BN but Umno that stand to benefit the most if Khalid to remain MB. Apart from the Langat 2 project and Kidex, Umno is eyeing the state coffers of RM3 billion accumulated by Khalid.

KnockKnock: HRH (His Royal Highness) is for Khalid. BN is for Khalid. PAS is for Khalid. Most PKRs are for Khalid. In a day or two, Khalid remains firmer as MB.

Come GE14, PKR is history. PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang is reappointed as Terengganu MB under BN. Ahmad Yakob remains as Kelantan MB under BN.

All the other states will be won by BN, except Penang. But come GE15, Penang will return to BN. -Mkini
