Selangor a trophy Umno wants to claim back

YOURSAY ‘A political chess play in which Selangor gov’t is not without threats from within and outside.’

Rafizi: Don't be in PKR if you want to blame Anwar

Survivor: The man on the street, hopefully, is not naive on this issue. Perhaps some explanation and clarification may be necessary by the PKR leadership. We know what is going on and think enough explanation has been made.

Umno Baru is the main culprit. PAS is the opportunist. And Khalid Ibrahim, the current menteri besar, is a pawn.

Remember, Selangor is a trophy to claim back by Umno Baru. Those in PKR who try to stir the shit from within are likely to be Trojans.

UntaSenyum: It is a political chess play. The Pakatan government of Selangor is not without threats from within and outside. When checkmated, you have to move and counter-move and plot and counter-plot to survive and move on!

Watchtower: Well said, Rafizi Razak. Yes, please allow healthy debate, well-mannered and with the right thinking. Don't complain about this and that, debate about what will make a great party and lead a great and beautiful nation like ours. Currently our nation has been trampled by a few greedy monkeys and their followers.

2Kali5: Let's go through the events that brought about the "crisis". We all know why an elected representative who unselfishly made way for Anwar Ibrahim to contest. We also know or speculate who was going to be the next menteri besar to replace the existing one whose position may have been compromised.

We all know what happened next when the appeal against Anwar’s sodomy case was heard and the decision that brought about the frustration. It was then only a natural course to nominate his wife to complete the charted course of action. Do we still link this to nepotism?

Man on the Street: What about public perception on nepotism that is so glaring. Are you indirectly telling them not support PKR or not to vote for the party in the coming elections? I am shocked that the above uncalled statement coming from you.

Not Smart: Blaming of personalities are common in any party. When there are no real issues to pin a person down, blaming on any petty and illogical issue will be an easy way out. The most important principle to be upheld at all times must be the agreed objectives and struggles of the coalition and the rakyat’s aspiration, sincerely.

However, there must be zero tolerance on corruption, cronyism, unfair practices, personal gains and racial incitement. Not only the people who resort to such blaming tactics should leave but also any elected person who breaches the principle should do so accordingly.

Along the journey to achieve the ultimate objectives, there will always be issues and the weak ones will be quick to blame. Excellent strong message not only to PKR, but to all political parties.

Ivbala: Many have forgotten who brought PAS, DAP and PKR together under Pakatan. Many have forgotten who breaks the majority voice of the BN in Parliament. Many have forgotten that Anwar is the one who made CM of Penang and MB of Selangor by winning the support of the rakyat for Pakatan. Many have forgotten the number of seats Pakatan held when Anwar was still in prison.

Truth: Same excuses: blame Umno and the BN for PKR’s internal problems. Apparently now, PKR belongs to Anwar, either with him or against him. Members are not allowed to state their dissent or voice his/her opinions.

Ipohcrite: Let's cut the nepotism crap. I think Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has more than proven her worth. Contest fairly and win on your own steam. Don't expect others to stand aside for you just because they are related and believe very strongly in the Pakatan cause.

Sleepy: Many voted Pakatan not because it is perfect but because it is credible. If not, a two-party system would have existed before Pakatan. If Pakatan loses credibility, then it will be history. Personally, I believe Pakatan is still credible, ironically because of this crisis and its willingness to acknowledge, change and still be relevant.

Fair Play: Rafizi, you got a much bigger problem than those (within and without) who blame Anwar for everything that goes wrong in Selangor, the nation and maybe even in the global economy. It's in their psyche.

PKR should be very careful, moving forward, in vetting and selecting candidates to stand in state assembly and Parliament seats. Khalid Ibrahim is one lesson that the right-thinking rakyat could never ever forget.

Even as late as the nomination as MB for the second term, the right-thinking rakyat rooted for Khalid until he transformed himself as a self-serving politician in the first year of his second term. It goes to show how easy politicians can be compromised.

Sabahan: It is a fact that without Anwar, there will be no Pakatan today and there will be no united front to challenge Umno/BN for the government of Malaysia. That is why Umno fears Anwar so much that he is the only person in Malaysia to be charged and convicted of sodomy. Think clearly, guys!

Smer: Rafizi, please don't make such sweeping statements. I'm sure that even in the party elections, there was not 100 percent support for Anwar and his family. By saying such things, how different are you from Umno/BN, with their "my way or the highway" mentality?

Alexander: Yes everything Anwar says and does is the gospel truth. It was Anwar who said Khalid is a good administrator. He saved RM3 billion for Selangor, but now that he doesn't spend the money unnecessarily he becomes a bad guy.

Everything about the opposition is good. This doesn't mean that if we support the opposition, we must condone to the cronyism and share-the-cake-within-the-family principle. PKR is showing its true Umno colours. Don't we hear these kinds of challenges in the Umno assembly too?

Hank Marvin: Arrogant or otherwise, it is illogical to blame everything on Anwar.

Cholan: How arrogant can PKR get? My way or no way? How different is PKR from Umno? -Mkini
