A couple who publicly posed ‘semi-nude’ as part
of a bridal photoshoot in Ipoh on Monday had been fined by the
Magistrate’s Court there after pleading guilty to causing a public
nuisance.
Male
model Low Kah Wai, 27 and female model How Jo Yee, 21, were fined
RM400 each for posing half naked for a photography session at a traffic
light junction.
Berita Harian reported that Magistrate Haslinda A Raof ruled that they could face a month in jail if they fail to pay the fine.
Both Low and How were charged under Section 268 of the Penal Code with
causing a general public nuisance, which is punishable under Section 290
of the same act.
Low was seen strutting along the road, shirtless but wearing a pair of
black trousers and a bow tie, while How was wearing only a white bikini
with a veil.
Low and How were represented by their lawyer Andrew Soong, who confirmed that both the accused will settle their fines in cash.
Deputy public prosecutor Harris Ong Mohd Jeffery Ong handled the prosecution for this case.
The picture of the duo walking semi-nude near Jalan Sultan Yusoff had spread online two days, ago, going viral.
The picture was spread just less than three weeks since controversy
erupted over a ‘nude sports games’ which was held in Penang in June by a
group of nudists.
The co-organisers of the ‘nude games’ have been detained and are currently on bail.
They are also being investigated under the Penal Code, for insulting the
modesty of a person and causing an obscene act in a public space.
