KUALA LUMPUR - PKR denied today Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim’s claim
that Pakatan Rakyat (PR) had nominated not just him as Selangor mentri
besar last year and in 2008.
PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim both said that PKR, PAS and the DAP had officially submitted only Khalid’s name to the Selangor palace as MB of the country’s wealthiest state for both terms.
“Only one official name,” Dr Wan Azizah told reporters outside the courtroom here this afternoon, during a break in Anwar’s defamation suit against Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman.
Anwar, who was with her, said the three PR parties had sent separate letters to the Selangor palace last year, all nominating just Khalid, that were signed by PKR’s Dr Wan Azizah, DAP’s Karpal Singh and PAS’ Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang respectively. -Malay Mail
