ALS Ice Bucket Challenge merupakan kempen untuk meningkatkan kesedaran tentang penyakit Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) di mana peserta harus menyiram sebaldi air berisi ais ke tubuhnya lalu mencalonkan 3 orang yang lain untuk melakukan perkara yang sama. Jika tidak dapat melakukannya, mereka harus menyumbangkan $100 ke yayasan ALS. Ia bertujuan untuk mengutip derma bagi membiayai pusat penyelidikan & mencari penawar utk penyakit ALS ni.

Tujuan menyimbah ais ke tubuh seseorang adalah kerana kesan yang kita rasai apabila sebaldi air berisi ais disimbah ke tubuh kita adalah sama dengan apa yang dirasai oleh pengidap penyakit ALS ini. ALS adalah sejenis penyakit yg mengganggu urat saraf di dalam otak dan saraf tunjang. Gangguan saraf ini kemudiannya akan menjadikan pesakit itu lumpuh dan akhirnya meninggal dunia.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is an event started by the ALS Association in order to raise awareness of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, and to raise donations. If you're nominated, you must dump a bucket of ice water on you or donate money to the organization, which will go to funding the research to find treatments and a cure for ALS.
