‘The only person who is capable of destroying Umno is Anwar.’

YOURSAY ‘The only person who is capable of destroying Umno is Anwar.’

Rafizi: Don't be in PKR if you want to blame Anwar

Man on the Street: PKR's Kajang Move and Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli’s line of explanation of Jawaharlal Nehru family does not convince me.

The Kajang Move has a hidden agenda and was not carried out democratically. It was not right asking an elected representative to step aside.

Nehru's family members took their turn in leadership over a few generations, not overnight. Because of nepotism, the Congress Party did not survive in the last election. Time has changed since Nehru and there are more capable leaders now.

2Kali5: Let's go through the events that brought about the ‘Selangor crisis’. We all know why an elected representative unselfishly made way for DSAI (Anwar Ibrahim) to contest.

We also know or speculate who was going to be the next MB to replace the existing one whose position may have been compromised. We all know what happened next when the appeal against DSAI's sodomy case was heard and the decision that brought about much frustration.

It was then only a natural course to nominate Anwar’s wife to complete the charted course of action. Do we still link this to nepotism?

UntaSenyum: It is a political chess play. Pakatan Rakyat Selangor government is not without threat from within and outside. When checkmated, you have to move and counter move and plot in order to survive.

Pakatan-Ku: Rafizi, it looks like you are no better than a mouthpiece for Anwar. When you had savagely ripped the credibility of TSKI (Khalid Ibrahim) to shreds, turning him from hero to zero, now you call for peace.

Transparency and justice is not for Anwar alone. We defended Anwar during Reformasi days against the false charges and now that you are on top and ambitious, you did the same thing to TSKI. Shame on you.

We support Pakatan because we wanted to have a two-party system. We voted out cronyism and nepotism and not replaced by PKR’s brand of cronyism and nepotism. We want Anwar to be a leader not a demi-god. Remember, the ends do not justify the means.

The Mask: Pakatan-Ku, here you go again, simply using words without backing up with facts.

Firstly, I am not a die-hard supporter of anybody. If you have read my past comments, I have criticised anyone who is self-seeking and does not have the rakyat’s welfare at heart., and I've done these with facts.

Your "end justify the means" are just empty words. What "end" am I supposed to achieve and what "means" am I supposed to use? Let’s debate intelligently as this is what this Malaysiakiniforum is for.

Smer: Rafizi, please don't make such sweeping statements. I'm sure even in the party elections, there was not 100 percent support for Anwar and his family.

By saying such things, how different are you from Umno-BN with their "my way or the highway" mentality?

Aries46: Yes, Rafizi. Anwar has had more than his fair share of pain and heartache - thanks to Umno. We don't need party members to add on to his troubles.

Nepotism is the reality in Asian culture, such as the Nehru dynasty that ruled India for six decades until recently.

In Bolehland, we have Abdul Razak and Najib Razak, Hussein Onn and Hishammuddin Hussein, Mahathir Mohamad and Mukhriz Mahathir, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Khairy Jamaluddin.

So those who criticise Anwar have ulterior motives and are better off in the opposition cesspit. Anwar's leadership is the backbone of Pakatan and the very reason for Umno's single-minded persecution under its various guises.

Let us not dig our own graves.

Fair Play: Rafizi, you got a much bigger problem than those (within and without) who blame Anwar for everything that goes wrong in Selangor, the nation and maybe even the global economy.

It's in their psyche. PKR should be very careful, moving forward, in vetting and selecting candidates for state and federal government to stand as representatives. Khalid Ibrahim is one lesson that the right-thinking rakyat could never ever forget.

Even when Khalid was nominated MB for the second term, the right-thinking rakyat rooted for him until he transformed himself as a self-serving politician in the first year of his second term. It goes to show how easy politicians can be compromised.

Anonymous_1397576329: I, like millions of righteous, hardworking and peaceful citizens believe the only person who  is capable destroying Umno is Anwar.

The delegates from PKR have given 100 percent support to Azizah getting the MB’s post. The question of nepotism does not arise at all. In fact, she is the most appropriate candidate.

Sleepy: Many voted Pakatan not because it is perfect but because it is creditable, if not, a two-party system would have existed before Pakatan.

If Pakatan loses credibility then it’s history. Personally, I believe Pakatan is still  credible, ironically because of this crisis and its willingness to acknowledge, change and still be relevant.

Retnam: When Anwar goes to jail, who will these people blame? -Mkini
