WHAT ELSE BUT MORE TREACHERY & LIES: PAS to discuss Selangor MB nominations tonight

SHAH ALAM - Selangor PAS will meet its party leadership tonight to discuss its nominations for the mentri besar post, following the Sultan's order that Pakatan Rakyat (PR) parties nominate more than two names each.
"We will be meeting the secretary-general (Datuk Mustafa Ali) tonight at Shah Alam," Selangor PAS commissioner told reporters at a news conference here.
PKR and DAP have insisted on nominating PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as their sole Selangor mentri besar candidate.
The two PR parties also noted in a joint statement last night that the Sultan had similarly asked for more than one name for the MB post last year. PR presented just one name at the time — Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim — which the ruler accepted.
“Therefore, Keadilan and the DAP take note of His Royal Highness the Selangor Sultan’s royal decree and will present YB Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s name to be considered by His Royal Highness the Selangor Sultan, in line with the convention that was practised by Pakatan Rakyat in 2013, seeing that YB Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has already obtained majority support of at least 30 state assemblymen (including YB Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail herself),” said PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and DAP publicity chief Tony Pua in the statement.

All 28 Selangor assemblymen from DAP and PKR, as well as two from PAS, have signed statutory declarations in support of Dr Wan Azizah as the new MB.
The Selangor Sultan decreed earlier for PAS, PKR and the DAP to each propose more than two names as MB candidates.
The state palace also said that Khalid’s resignation from his mentri besar post has been postponed until the new appointment.
Khalid said yesterday he was “happy” to quit as MB and noted that the issue of snap elections no longer arose since the ruler has requested for a list of MB candidates.
On Monday, PAS maintained its nomination for two candidates — Dr Wan Azizah and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali — to replace Khalid.
