SEREMBAN: The information chief of Negeri Sembilan PAS Youth, Safrizul Tarmizan, died in a road accident in Kelantan this morning in the first lap of his journey home to Seremban.
The crash also killed his mother, Asmita Lukman, 56.
Safrizul, 31, had gone to Kelantan to fetch members of his family after their vacation in his wife’s home state. They were travelling in a multi-purpose vehicle when it collided with an express bus at Km 106.5 of the Kota Baru-Gua Musang road at about 4.30am.
His wife, Nurul Izatil Aqmar, 28, is receiving treatment at the Kuala Krai Hospital. Their only daughter, Uma Al Fateh, 3, was rushed to the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in Kubang Kerian. She is said to be suffering from brain haemorrhage.
Another traveller, a niece of Safrizul’s, had minor injuries.
The deceased were taken to the Kuala Krai Hospital for an autopsy and will be buried in Seremban, according to Negeri Sembilan PAS Youth chief Norazman Mohamad.
Funeral prayers will be held at dawn tomorrow at the Kelana Petra Sendeng mosque, Norazman said.
Safrizal, a graduate of the A-Azhar University in Cairo, was a teacher at Sekolah Rendah Islam Integrasi Darul Ulum in Rasah.
