This is another example of the speed of light at which automotive technology is progressing. The Ford Focus diesel already gives 67 mpg. Now this Peugeot hybrid is giving about 117 mpg.

This morning I was at the Mercedes showroom - sniffing new cars with some friends. The super cool and huge E Class Bluetec give extremely good mileage, between 38 to 42 mpg (16km/l to 18km/l).

And these cars are available to the common man in Europe, the US and most of the rest of the world. Meaning they are affordable. In Malaysia these cars will be affordable only in duty free Pulau Langkawi. Many of which are now smuggled out of Langkawi to the mainland - an activity that seems to be unstoppable by our Customs Department. Very strange. Can we make the Klang Valley duty free as well?

The rest of the world is moving ahead at light speed.

We are arguing about inconsequential things - sedition for insulting this and that, halal versus non halal,  to support the IS or not, and other things of no relevance at all.

I was watching Hypp TV yesterday morning. Here is a Thai fishing village.

Well it used to be a fishing village. This is Pattaya. Our neighbours are moving ahead at light speed as well. Here is a new Nissan plant opening in Thailand (July 2014).

  • NISSAN OPENS NEW PLANT IN THAILAND
  • Plant will produce NP300 Navara, Nissan's new generation pickup
  • (July 3rd, 2014) – Nissan opening second production plant in Thailand.
  • new plant production hub for NP300 Navara for export to 45 countries
  • Thailand now boasts two Nissan plants and a Nissan R&D facility
  • increasing importance as Nissan's Asian hub for exports and manufacturing
  • invested 3.7 billion Thai Baht in 580,000 square meter facility
  • bringing 2,000 new job opportunities
  • Full production capacity to reach 150,000 units per annum
  • Thailand is the engine of growth for us in the region
  • said Fumiaki Matsumoto, Executive Vice President for global manufacturing
  • signifies our optimism for Thailand, growing automotive market
  • center of manufacturing excellence for the region and export hub for the world
Di sini pula pengampu PM sibuk mengampu PM. Bila tak ampu depa garu tel*q.
