The post, in which he commented on the Prophet Muhammad, was captured and shared widely on Facebook, Twitter and blogs.
Orok subsequently posted an apology to Muslims, blaming others for the offensive post.
Orok stood for the State Reform Party (Star) as a candidate for the Sulaman constituency in the 13th General Election.
His post angered many, including members of PAS and Umno in Sabah.
PAS Sabah deputy commissioner III Hamid Ismail called for action against Orok in July.
“PAS Sabah views David Orok’s comment as an insult to Prophet Muhammad SAW and Islam.”
Police reports were also lodged against him by the Sepanggar Umno Youth division and the Coalition of Sabah Muslim NGOs Council.
