Be grateful for half-month bonus

The Chief Secretary Ali Hamsa said civil servants should also work together with the government to implement and ensure success of the National Development Strategy
civilservantsannualn02KUALA LUMPUR:Chief Secretary to the Government Ali Hamsa described the 2015 Budget tabled by Prime Minister Najib Razak as having reflected the government’s concerns over the wellbeing of the civil servants, especially women.
As such, he said civil servants should be grateful for the half-month salary or a minimum of RM500 as bonus which would be paid in January next year, as well as the special financial assistance of RM250 to be received by pensioners, as announced by the prime minister on Friday.
“Other benefits announced by the government in the 2015 Budget is the expansion of the MyBrain15 incentives to civil servants to pursue studies in local institutions of higher learning, which will complement the effort to produce quality civil servants,” he said.
Meantime, Ali said civil servants should practice wise spending while intensifying their efforts to improve their productivity so that the public delivery service would go beyond the expectation of the people in line with the concept of People First, Performance Now.
He said civil servants should also work together with the government to implement and ensure success of the National Development Strategy, which will be launched next year, while enlivening the initiatives under the Blue Ocean Strategy. – Bernama
