Faekah says Azmin sacked Khalid’s clerks ' IN REVENGE’
KUALA LUMPUR - Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali does not seem to want an end to his feud with his predecessor, claimed an aide of Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim yesterday.
Former Menteri Besar Incorporated chief executive Faekah Husin said in the latest move by Azmin’s administration, the services of
two clerks at the Port Klang state assemblyman’s office were yesterday terminated with immediate effect.
The long-standing row between Azmin, who is PKR deputy president, and Khalid, the former party treasurer-general, escalated early this year at the start of the Kajang by-election, which was recently admitted by PKR leaders as being engineered to oust Khalid from his menteri besar post.
“I just received the call about the letter (of termination) today (yesterday). The clerks were on the payroll of the state government. Why sack them, if he (Azmin) is exacting revenge against Khalid?” asked Faekah when contacted.
Faekah, who is now Khalid’s special officer, said each state assemblyman received RM10,000 from the state government to set up offices in their constituencies. The budget also included the employment of two clerks to run the premises.
Faekah said the annual allocation of RM600,000 for each state constituency was also blocked last week for Port Klang.
“I believe Azmin is not done yet. He is still seething in anger and seeking political vengeance,” said Faekah, who declined to name the two clerks.

The state treasurer had earlier sent a letter to instruct the closure of Skim Mesra Usia Emas (senior citizens scheme accounts) at Bandar Tun Razak, a parliamentary seat held by Khalid, along with the Port Klang state seat also held by him.
In justifying the move, Azmin said Khalid had done the same in 2008 after former PKR member and previous Port Klang assemblyman Badrul Hisham Abdullah left the party.
Faekah said Khalid’s case was different from Badrul as the former did not quit or join Umno.
“Badrul even enjoyed a special allowance accorded by Barisan Nasional to its representatives in states ruled by opposition parties. Khalid was sacked but he did not join Umno.
“Furthermore, Khalid’s expulsion from the party is still being investigated by the Registrar of Societies (Ros) due to alleged discrepancies.”
Last Wednesday, PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and party secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail were summoned by the RoS office in Putrajaya over Khalid’s removal from the party. -NST
