Lim said the investigating officer also enlisted his assistance to record a statement from DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang for the same report.

He said the officer told him that he has yet to record statements from Najib and Dr Mahathir.
"I had expected the officer to record the statements from Najib and Dr Mahathir first.  Why ask my help to record a statement from Kit Siang?" Lim said.

"I hope to get details from the officer when I meet him at the Sentul district police headquarters tomorrow," Lim, a lawyer told The Malayian Insider.

Lim had lodged a report against Najib and Dr Mahathir after Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi gave the assurance that all reports were treated equally and investigations would commence within 24 hours after the report is lodged.
"Well, it has been two weeks and there is no progress," said Lim.

The MP lodged the report against Dr Mahathir for making provocative remarks against Kit Siang during the general election campaign last year.
In response, Dr Mahathir said he is prepared to be detained by police following the report by Lim.
"I'm just an ordinary person  now. If I should be detained in accordance with the law, go ahead," he had said.
Dr Mahathir, 89, said as a politician, he did not expect goodwill from the public all the  time.
