RAFIZI BLAMED FOR RIFT IN PAKATAN

(NST) – A PKR grassroots leader has blamed party vice-president Rafizi Ramli for causing a rift among the opposition pact.
Shah Alam PKR branch member Datuk Hussein Ahmad also claimed Rafizi, who is also PKR secretary-general, was “too smart for his own good” and often attempted to force his ideals onto other party leaders.
Hussein cited an example of Rafizi’s alleged failure, such as the Kajang by-election, which the Pandan member of parliament was alleged to have engineered to oust Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim as Selangor menteri besar.
He alluded that the by-election was a turning point which led to the fractious relationship in Pakatan.
“The Kajang Move, dubbed by Rafizi, was disastrous from the start. He had failed to conform with the views of other pact members who opposed the idea of holding the by-election.
“He went ahead and that widened the rifts between DAP, Pas and PKR,” said Hussein yesterday.
He claimed that Rafizi was too fond of “showing off his supposed intellect”, much to the chagrin of other leaders.
On Rafizi’s additional position as party secretary-general, Hussein described the recent appointment as mind-boggling, given the alleged troubles he had caused the party.
He said it was nonsensical to have Rafizi as secretary-general, since it was a role his predecessor, Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, had performed rather “admirably”.
