RM2.9 million ransom to free constable

Kidnappers are now asking for RM2.9 million to release cop kidnapped in July this year.

abu-sayyefTUARAN: Bukit Aman Public Order and Internal Security Director Mohammad Fuad Abu Zarim said the kidnappers of marine police constable Zakiah Aleip had made contact and were demanding RM2.9 million for his release.
In confirming that the ransom amount was being negotiated, Fuad said he hoped the kidnappers would relent and release Zakiah without any ransom having to be paid.
Zakiah 26, was kidnapped from Mabul Water Bungalows Resort in Pulau Mabul, Sabah on July 12 by eight Filipino gunmen.
Zakiah’s colleague, 32-year-old Corporal Abdul Rajah Jamuan, was shot dead during the incident.
