TRAFFIC GRIDLOCK in Klang Valley due to floods, MRT construction

TRAFFIC GRIDLOCK in Klang Valley due to floods, MRT construction
KUALA LUMPUR - Traffic was brought to a standstill around the city centre today as heavy rain forced motorists to slow down and caused floods on several major roads.
From 6.30pm, information received from the City Hall’s Integrated Transport Information System (ITIS) showed traffic on all major roads leading out of and into the city centre was reduced to a crawl due to the weather.
The downpour also caused a flash flood near the Subang toll and near a clock tower at the exit of Jalan Subang which resulted in a massive crawl on the Federal Highway.
Bad congestion was also reported on the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) due to a flash flood near Taman Maju Jaya.
All lanes were blocked and a contra flow was activated near the PJS toll.
“The rain has stopped and the flood receded at about 7pm,” said an ITIS officer when contacted through its hotline.
