Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan will not be attending a forum, hosted by National Oversight and Whistleblowers (NOW), on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) in Petaling Jaya this Wednesday.
The chief executive officer (CEO) of the state sovereign fund, Mohd Hazem Abd Rahman, too will not be present at the forum organised by the non-profit outfit founded by PKR's Rafizi Ramli.
"I did not receive any invitation and I never gave my consent to be there," said Ahmad.
"I've also asked 1MDB CEO and he confirmed he would not attend the forum too," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.
The forum, titled "1MDB: Malaysia in Debt?" is to be held at The Club @ Bukit Utama, Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Besides Ahmad and Mohd Hazem, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Rafizi, Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua had also been invited to speak at the forum.
