Zam bans Khairy’s man for distasteful behaviour

Zam reacts to snub on cafe with a lifelong ban causing some to think the animosity between the two has some political undertones.

PETALING JAYA: Former minister of information Zainuddin Maidin took to his blog to express his disdain for Khairy Jamaluddin’s Special Officer who dropped by at his cafe recently, then posted on Facebook how the food there had left a bad taste in his mouth.
Zainuddin said that rather than take legal action against Zeifry Ibrahim for the insult, it was better to ban him from ever stepping foot in his cafe again.
Zainuddin was referring to Zeifry’s Facebook posting that read, “Nama sampoii – canggih – makanan hampehhh. Customer tanya – jawapan ‘Ini cara masak kita macam ini’.
Translated, Zeifry’s posting read, “Fancy name but food sucks. When a customer asks (about the food), all they can say is “This is how we cook it.”
Zeifry’s posting, while hitting below the belt, resulted in Zam grabbing the opportunity to do much the same by saying Khairy’s special officer had not only bad-mouthed the Zam News Room Cafe, but had tarnished Khairy Jamaluddin’s image and that of the government as well.
“This is the classic example of an officer who has tarnished the minister’s name and the government.”
“In order to stop him further tarnishing my cafe, it is best that I ban Khairy Jamaluddin’s special officer from entering this cafe ever again.”
Not letting up on the reason for this lifelong ban, Zainuddin wrote, “…better to use him (Zeifry) instead as an example of a Ministry Official who did not appreciate the inspiration behind the Prime Minister’s and Deputy Prime Minister’s efforts in winning the hearts of the people.”
Obviously taking Zeifry’s insult to heart, Zainuddin rattled out a long list of public figures made up of bloggers and Wisma Putra officials alike, who frequented his cafe and never once resorted to insulting or criticising either the staff or the food served there.
Explaining that his cafe only served basic fare such as nasi lemak, nasi tomato, sandwiches, lasagna and spaghetti besides beverages, Zainuddin attributed Zeifry’s uncalled for behaviour as a result of being unhappy that the cafe was self-service meaning that he had to order and pay for his food at the counter.
