I’m also eminent, the 25 who signed open letter are cowards, says Ibrahim Ali

Datuk Ibrahim Ali said the 25 former civil servants and influential leaders who recently signed an open letter calling for a stop to extremism in Malaysia were "cowards" for criticising Malay rights groups like Perkasa and Isma.
"They are only attacking the Malays. Why are they not saying anything on the non-Malay groups and the others who have criticised Islam and the Malay rulers?" asked Ibrahim, who is president of Perkasa.
Dismissing the contents of the open letter, Ibrahim said the views of the 25 individuals did not represent the majority of Malays in the country.
“So-called 25 eminent Malays. I am also eminent. In Perkasa we have a lot of eminent people, the professors and so on," said Ibrahim.
He also told the group not to disunite the Malays and to instead "advise" non-Malay groups about Malay sensitivities.
"This is not a matter of extremism, this is about Islam's rules. We cannot play around with it. You can be moderate but (your moderation) cannot overrule God's law," said Ibrahim.
He said he would not apologise for being blunt and loud in his criticism against liberal Malays, whom he said had "gone out of control".
"I am not apologetic and if it is war that they want, we will go to war," he declared.
Yet, Ibrahim, said he still respected the 25 signatories as individuals.
