SCANTILY CLAD GIRLS! Why is Mukhriz allowing Miss Tourism beauty pageant to be held in Langkawi?

SCANTILY CLAD GIRLS! Why is Mukhriz allowing Miss Tourism beauty pageant to be held in Langkawi?
PAS has expressed vehement opposition to a beauty pageant scheduled to take place in Pulau Langkawi tomorrow.
The event, entitled "Miss Tourism International: Show Extravaganza" will take place at Berjaya Langkawi Resort.
Kedah PAS chief Mahfuz Omar said he is disappointed that the Kedah government was allowing the programme to go ahead which he said "does not bring out a healthy culture".
"The menteri besar (Mukhriz Mahathir) must clearly state his stance towards the programme.
"It goes against the image that he has been trying to project... to portray that he is Islamic," he told Malaysiakini when contacted.
The Pokok Sena state assemblyperson said the programme is also insensitive in light of the MH17 and MH370 tragedies this year.
Mahfuz, who is also PAS information chief, said Langkawi did not need such events as it was already capable of attracting tourists as it is.
"Or has Langkawi become unattractive (for tourists) under Mukhriz?" he said
The event is jointly organised b Berjaya Langkawi Resort and the Tourism and Culture Ministry.
A total of 62 finalists from across the globe will be taking part in the beauty pageant.
Protest over M’sia Expo 2014
In a separate development, PAS Youth today said it submitted a memorandum of protest to Foreign Minister Anifah Aman over the Malaysia Expo 2014 which will take place at the Cairo Festival City Mall in Egypt from Dec 10 to 13.
The PAS Youth delegation, led by its vice chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin, took offence at what it said were performances by artists that "did not abide by Islamic law" at the expo.
"PAS Youth supports the expo as it is meant to to promote education, trade, investment and Malaysian food.
"However, the incident where there were performances by artists which was not according to Islamic law in the land of prophets is deeply disappointing," he said in a statement.
He did not mention the nature of the performances.
The memorandum was received by the the Malaysian Foreign Ministry's African Affairs Division representative. - M'kini
