WHAT HAPPENED TO 'SEDITIOUS' MASHITAH? Guan Eng slams IGP for double standards towards Eric Paulsen

WHAT HAPPENED TO 'SEDITIOUS' MASHITAH? Guan Eng slams IGP for double standards towards Eric Paulsen
DAP challenges BN and Inspector-General of Police(IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar to prove that they do not practice double-standards and committed towards maintaining harmony in mult-racial Malaysia, by arresting former Deputy Minister and Wanita UMNO leader Dr Mashitah Ibrahim for her inflammatory lies during the UMNO General Assembly that the Chinese community in Kedah had burned the Quran in a prayer ritual, and Perkasa President Ibrahim Ali for threatening to burn the Malay or Iban version of the Bible.
Inspector-general of police (IGP)Tan Sri Khalid had warned certain parties not to manipulate or "politicise" the sudden arrest last night of activist lawyer Eric Paulsen under the Sedition Act, which he claimed to be lawful based on a tweet Paulsen made last week. Khalid had said that Eric’s arrest is lawful, made to ensure harmony in this multiracial society.
If this is the case, can the IGP explain why were no such arrests made against both Dr Mashitah and Ibrahim Ali? By failing to act, both the IGP and BN is giving the unfortunate impression that there is nothing unlawful and even harmonious to make such malicious and evil lies against the Chinese community in Kedah or call for the burning of the Malay or Iban version of the Bible?
MASHITAH
What is most disturbing is Dr Mashitah Ibrahim’s lies raised in an inflammatory and provocative manner in falsely blaming the Chinese community in Kuala Kedah had burned the Quran, page by page during a prayer ritual, when the Kedah Menteri Besar had denied this in an earlier statement before her UMNO speech. The Kedah Menteri Besar had said that the Quran was not burnt but torn by a Malay Muslim who was mentally unbalanced and sent to hospital for treatment.
There was no plea of forgiveness by Mashitah for causing religious disharmony and racial discord in falsely blaming the Chinese community and neither was there any action taken by the police despite numerous reports being lodged against her. Can the IGP explain why Mashitah or even Ibrahim Ali can escape unpunished?
Eric Paulsen
Clearly there are double-standards and abuse of power practiced by both BN and the IGP when it involves those who support BN against PR. Their failure to act impartially and fairly gives rise to suspicion that BN is trying to distract attention from the failure of the Federal government to deal effectively with the recent national flood crisis and the numerous scandals such as 1MDB and trillions of ringgit lost from illicit funds and corruption.
