Police have arrested two university students for purportedly threatening the judiciary after the Federal Court's decision to convict and jail Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last week.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar tweeted about the arrests, saying the students were from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Universiti Selangor (Unisel).
The duo uploaded a picture with a firecracker and an upside-down scale, calling for action to be taken against every "cruel court" nationwide at 11.40pm tonight, believed to be over Anwar's conviction for sodomy.
"@PDRMsia semlm telah menahan 2 Penuntut, Unisel dan USM kerana muat naik berikut. Mrk akan di reman," he said.
(Police have arrested two students, Unisel and USM for uploading the following. They will be remanded.)
This follows a video released last week by those claiming to be members of Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (Isis), the radical Islamist group that controls swathes of Iraq and Syria and is responsible for killing its enemies.
In the video, uploaded on YouTube by "Isis Malaysia 69", four masked men threatened to attack courts nationwide with firecrackers on Wednesday.
Last week, following the Anwar verdict, Khalid also announced that several Pakatan Rakyat leaders and others who criticised the government and judiciary over Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's conviction would be investigated for sedition.
Among them were PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli and DAP's Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming.
Khalid's announcement followed the arrest of cartoonist Zulkiflee Anwar Ulhaque, also known as Zunar, who was detained on Tuesday night last week for a tweet criticising the judiciary over Anwar's verdict.
Zunar was released the following day.
