ALTANTUYA OPTION: Will Dr M speak to Musa Safri OR will Najib take the stand, undergo a LIE DETECTOR test?

"It's total rubbish, total rubbish," Datuk Seri Najib Razak said, shaking his head to reporters after attending the Chinese New Year open house at Wisma MCA, referring to former police commando Sirul Azhar Omar that he was under orders to commit the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Several politicians and individuals have raised their concern by asking how Najib could be so sure about it. If it were true, then how come nobody asked the question “Who gave the order to kill Altantuya?” in the High Court during the trial of the convicted duo, Sirul and accomplice Azilah Hadri. This would have proven that indeed Sirul and Azilah acted on their own!

On the contrary, there was a concerted effort by everyone involved in the trial not to ask this most important question, which could have exposed all the perpetrators involved in the murder and solve the crime there and then and not wasting everybody’s time for eight years since 18 October 2006 and counting!

If Najib was so sure, then he should also explain why ‘the most important question’ was not asked?

Then Najib must also explain his involvement in the murder case with reference to the series of sms’es he purportedly sent to Abdul Razak Baginda one of which reads as follows: “ I am seeing IGP at 11am today … matter will be solved … be cool” as stated in the of the first statutory declaration of private investigator Balasubramaniam, which Najib never publicly denied. Did Najib interfere in the police investigations?

It seems that the people associated with the Altantuya murder case have started to open up. Abdul Razak Baginda had opened his mouth so has Sirul in Australia and he is not going to shut up yet. Najib too has given his spontaneous response to the issue. These are signs that the whole thing will blow up and it is only a matter of time.

Azilah Hadri has yet to say something but the quietest of all is Musa Safri and he is quieter than the church mouse! Perhaps Musa Safri holds the key to the murder case as Najib has reiterated so many times that the police know everything. Maybe if Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad wants to make Najib listen to him, Mahathir should talk to Musa Safri, but that is another story.

Setev Shaariibuu

Mr. Setev Shaariibuu (Altantuya’s father) had filed a RM100-million suit against Abdul Razak, Azilah, Sirul and the government over his daughter’s death, thus this murder case will continue to haunt those involved.

We hope that this time around the police will be more thorough in its investigations and the court is free from any interference so that we will know the truth. The PDRM should use the polygraph test on all those people whose names were mentioned in this murder case, but use an independent specialist to do the test and evaluate the result; PDRM has lost its integrity. By the way, Musa Safri should be the first to volunteer if he has nothing to hide.

If the authorities are really sincere and have nothing to hide, this civil suit should be held maybe in a third country since in involves Mongolia.

This is also an opportunity for the Umno/BN government to regain its integrity that whatever result the third party court concluded, indeed would be irrefutable.

Remember, when Tun Dr. Mahathir decided to sack the former Lord President of the Federal Court of Malaysia Tun Mohamed Salleh Abas he took the initiative to get the judges from Sri Lanka and Singapore to sit in the tribunal.

Above all, Najib must take the stand in the civil suit to clear his name once and for all. - MAILBAG
