Boycott Chinese: Najib's new 'TSUNAMI' to divert economic blame from himself?

KUALA LUMPUR - Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob fired back at MCA Youth chief who had criticised his call for a boycott against Chinese traders, saying that the latter had no Barisan Nasional (BN) spirit for conspiring with DAP.

Chong Sin Woon, along with several other DAP members, which included its supremo Lim Kit Siang, had in a series of statements today condemned Ismail’s remark made on Facebook, which blamed the Chinese traders for the goods and services price hike.

“To me, MCA’s Youth chief should be thanking me for using the Malay majority voice to pressure the Chinese traders into reducing prices of goods, as majority of the Chinese are also consumers that are burdened by prices of goods not going down.

“If the prices of goods and services actually drop due to this pressure, the majority of Chinese consumers will also get to benefit from it,” wrote Ismail in yet another Facebook posting.

He said that instead of joining forces with DAP, Chong should have contacted him for explanation and urge the Chinese consumers to speak up and pressure the irresponsible traders.

“It seems like MCA Youth does not know whose priority it should be protecting.”

Chong had earlier stated that Ismail was not qualified to be a minister and branded the latter’s post as a racist statement that violated the spirit of the Constitution, the national practice of moderation and the Barisan Nasional’s multiracial spirit.

The Youth chief was just one of the many that had expressed their dissatisfaction over Ismail’s statement that was deemed to be placing the blame for unchanging goods price solely on the Chinese, and not on traders of other races. - http://www.therakyatpost.com/
