Lance Corporal pleads not guilty to sex offences and extortion.
KUALA LUMPUR: A 30-year-old lance corporal with the Kota Damansara police station was charged yesterday with the rape and extortion of a teenage college student here.
Muhamad Fazrul Fauzi, 30, pleaded not guilty.
He is alleged to have raped the 19-year-old girl in the male toilet of a shopping centre in Petaling Jaya between midnight and 1.45am on January 27. He was charged with forcing the girl to perform oral sex, and with extorting her of RM500 the same day.
He was allowed bail on all three charges, which were heard in the sessions and magistrate’s courts, Malay Mail Online reported.
Muhamad Fazrul is alleged to have extorted money by telling the girl she would be expelled from college and arrested by Selangor religious authorities if she did not comply.
Muhamad Fazrul’s counsel, Ahmad Zaharil Muhaiyar, applying for bail said Mohd Fazrul would live with his brother, who would be his bailor, until the case was resolved, and gave an undertaking that he would not pester the victim or witnesses.
