HEY PERKASA ISMA, WERE YOU HERE 6 CENTURIES AGO! - Zuraida slams hardliners on CNY

HEY PERKASA ISMA, WERE YOU HERE 6 CENTURIES AGO! - Zuraida slams hardliners on CNY
In the 15th century, Admiral Cheng Ho arrived in Malacca and thus began a new era of trading ties and cooperation between the Chinese and the Malacca Sultanate.
It is said that Admiral Cheng Ho landed in Malacca five out of seven times during his famous voyages. Admiral Cheng Ho, a Chinese Muslim was an explorer and diplomat representing the Ming Dynasty’s Emperor Yong Le.
His visits to the Southeast Asia region and particularly Sultan Mansur Shah cemented the diplomatic relationship between these two rulers. He also brought Parameswara, his wife and 540 officials to visit the Chinese emperor.
The destroyers of peace and harmony
It is a pity that six centuries later, Perkasa and ISMA have worked hard to spoil that good relationship. Let us not forget that it is the integration of these two cultures through intermarriages that brought about the Peranakan lineage which uses the honorific titles Baba for men and Nyonya for women.
During the Song Dynasty, Justice Bao was a government official well-known for his righteousness. Today, he is a symbol of justice for the Chinese. When Justice Bao appears, it means that there is a need for justice.
Our Keadilan supporter dressed up as Justice Bao during Anwar Ibrahim’s final verdict on 10 February 2015. There is no doubt that on that day, the five judges failed to deliver justice. For that, it is appropriate that Justice Bao showed up on that day. This is not a race issue – Justice is for everyone. Keadilan untuk semua.
May the Year of the Ram bring peace, harmony and prosperity to everyone. Wanita Keadilan wishes all Malaysian Chinese a Happy Chinese New Year.
Last but not least, Perkasa and ISMA should learn about respect, and in the words of the ancient Chinese sage Confucius, “Respect yourself and others will respect you.”
YB Zuraida Kamaruddin is the MP for Ampang, Ketua Wanita Keadilan
