KUALA LUMPUR - Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali has denied rumours that he has been hospitalised, contrary to pictures which have been making the rounds on the Internet.
In an exclusive video response to The Rakyat Post, the former Pasir Mas Member of Parliament said he was currently in Southampton, England, for a programme with students, proving that he was still alive and well.
The video runs for 1 minute and 29 seconds.
The fiery activist, who was wearing a beanie, a muffler and a jacket, proclaimed:
“I am currently waiting for my mutton briyani at a Turkish restaurant.
“Later, I have programme with students in Southampton,”
“Since Feb 5 until today the weather has been cold and I am very, very, very well.
“Long live Perkasa!
“Whoever who made such allegations that I’m unwell are really stupid.”
The photo, which was uploaded on kalamungu.blogspot.com with the title, “Ibrahim Ali Ditimpa Bala Dek Mulut Celuparnya Dakwa Nik Aziz Gagal” (“Ibrahim Ali hospitalised after his outburst that Nik Aziz had failed”).
The picture is believed to have been uploaded following Ibrahim’s controversial criticism directed at PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat after the latter’s death.
Ibrahim, on his Facebook account on Friday, stated that Nik Abdul Aziz had not contributed much to Kelantan despite holding the position of the state’s Menteri Besar for more than 20 years.
He also wrote that Nik Abdul Aziz had failed to implement hudud and that his death was not unexpected.
The post was removed after it drew the ire of the public.
Ibrahim was defeated in the 13th General Election by Nik Abdul Aziz’s son, Nik Mohamad Abduh. - http://www.therakyatpost.com/
