Police to identify troublemakers at Anwar rally

Police to act decisively against those who acted outside the law, including hurling insults and inciting the crowd.
Gari PolisKLUANG: The police will identify those who acted outside the law at a rally to support jailed opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim on Saturday, including scribbling obscene words on police vehicles.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Noor Rashid Ibrahim said they will examine the photographs and video footage recorded during the rally before taking action against the individuals.
“Every rally is documented with photographs including unruly acts. We will try to identify them via the images,” he told reporters after closing the Inspector General of Police Trophy bowling tournament, here yesterday.
Noor Rashid reminded supporters to abide by the law during rallies to avoid police action against them, adding that the police had to act decisively to take action against those who acted outside the law, including hurling insults and inciting the crowd.
“We have to bear in mind that the courts have already tried Anwar. I advise dissatisfied supporters to act within the law,” he added.
