GEORGE TOWN - A Tamil language newspaper reporter who was recently threatened on the phone has lodged a police report after a similar incident on Sunday.
The 27-year-old received a call about 9.11pm that day from a man who threatened to finish her off.
Fearing for her safety, she immediately lodged a police report at the northeast district headquarters here.
District police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid confirmed the report was lodged and said police would investigate.
"Police are now searching for the suspect," he told the media in a text message today.
In the first incident, she lodged a police report after a man threatened, over the phone, to hit her with slippers about 3.55pm on Jan 28.
The man allegedly made the threat after she wrote an article about police detaining 33 men at an entertainment outlet on Jan 25.
Both cases are being investigated for criminal intimidation under the Penal Code. - Sundaily
