UMNO'S DUMB & DUMBER: Don’t judge till you have seen what Anwar did to M'sia, Syed Ali tells U.S.
KUALA LUMPUR - The White House should have noted the tribulations that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had wrought upon the country before questioning the Federal Court’s decision to imprison him.
In saying this, Umno Cheras division chief Datuk Seri Syed Ali Alhabshee claimed that the Opposition leader’s actions had always created chaos and havoc that endangered the unity and harmony of the various races in the country.
“If one were to review the decision to jail him for five years, it does not tally as Anwar had caused plenty of damages to the judicial system in this country.
“He was willing to do anything in order to pursue his political ambitions and to become Prime Minister,” he wrote in his blog this evening.
Accordingly, Syed Ali reiterated that the White House and other foreign countries should not interfere in the internal affairs of Malaysia.
This country, he stressed, had its own method of determining safety and maintaining the harmony among it multiracial citizens.
Syed Ali said that the White House or the United States should address allegations that Guantanamo Bay prison detainees were treated cruelly before venting frustrations on the judgement against Anwar.

As such, Americans, he said, should not attempt to question the legal and judicial institutions in Malaysia by claiming that it was not fair because they were not pleased with the court’s decision against Anwar for the sodomy offence.
Several foreign governments, including the United States, have criticised the jailing of Anwar Ibrahim by the Federal Court, expressing concern for Malaysia’s judiciary.
The White House had issued a statement expressing its “deep disappointment” with Anwar’s conviction.
It said that the decision to prosecute Anwar and the conduct of his trial raised serious concerns about the rule of law and the fairness of the judicial system in Malaysia.
Yesterday, the Federal Court upheld the five-year sentence by the Court of Appeal to send Anwar to jail.
Anwar, who is the Permatang Pauh Member of Parliament, was found guilty of sodomising his former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, in 2008. - http://www.therakyatpost.com/
