- I don't blame the PAS conservatives alone. I also blame Umno for trying to be more "Islamic" than PAS. Umno started all this in the early 80s when Anwar went all out for "Islamisation". This was happily condoned by Mahathir (Anwar's mentor then.
Leaders make mistakes and today we see things are getting worse - beyond repair. Umno and PAS competing for VOTES using religion. In the process making the Malays regress in their world of metaphysics.
I see the only relevant party steadfast for secular education is DAP. Say anything u want about DAP but DAP sees Singapore as a successful model nation. Why can't Malays be successful like the majority Singaporeans? Why can't Malaysia become successful like Singapore?
Unfortunately, the Malays are made to think anything to do with the Chinese is negative.That DAP is chauvinistic and racist party. They are irreligious and so forth....
If only more secular-minded Malays get into DAP and transform DAP into aa truly multi-racial party - the country will prosper with secular thoughts. A secular Malay should lead DAP to convince more Malays to join the party.
But the Malays will not. They prefer PAS way of seeing things and we are doomed. Umno is equally in this club of doom.
Today we see Malay kids exposed to too much religious activities that they have little time for real education. They are studying "satanic lessons" to make them go backward in life. So much money is spent on these "satanic" practice that little money is left for many other purposeful things on life.....WE ARE DOOMED.
Rich and secular-minded Malays are leaving the country in droves.... soon the "scum" will be left here covering their heads with diapers and walking around.... They are importing people of the same type from Pakistan, Myanmmar, Bangla, Mindanao, Indonesia to make things worse for the country.

Turkey rolls back secular education as part of Erdogan's vision of 'pious generation'

i. dramatically increasing number of religious schools
ii. ending school ritual where students pledge allegiance to secular principles
ii. lowering starting age of these classes to 6 from 9
iii. teaching religion at pre-schools
My comments:
1. What is happening to Turkey now has happened to Malaysia since the early 1980s when Anwar Ibrahim joined the government.
2. The same thing happened to Pakistan earlier in the 1970s, particularly after the rise of General Zia Ul Haque in 1978.
Processing the membership application into the Club of Doom takes years, often decades. But somehow, once these countries begin the application process, they cannot seem to reverse it.
It is like getting pregnant. There is no such thing as being 10% pregnant or 40% pregnant. Once you are pregnant you are pregnant. At the end of the pregnancy you will have to see what you have given birth to. Whether it is a human or a satan depends on who you have been sleeping with.
Pakistan is now at a point where it is beyond redemption. Their pregnancy is almost approaching full term. I dont think they will give birth to anyting that is too human.
Malaysia is also headed in that direction. But I have great faith in our future, I think the moderates and the more intelligent among us can come together and overcome the half educated, village idiots who are trying to impose their teachings upon us.
As Tun Dr Mahathir said, if the moderates do not speak up, the extremists will take over the country. It is high time, super high time, that ALL moderates in this country come together, organise ourselves and do something to save this great country.
I have great faith in ALL our people. We were the first nation on the surface of this earth to defeat the communists, both militarily and ideologically. I am a student of our history. The Malayan Emergency that lasted 12 years from 1948 to 1960 played a great role in nation building. From a zero base or a negative base (pre WW2), it brought our people together. All the people of Malaya, and later Malaysia, made huge sacrifices to save the country from the communist aggressors. The Malays, the Chinese, the Indians, the native peoples of Sabah and Sarawak all made great sacrifices, including sacrificing their lives - so that we may live a better life. And this has happened in Malaysia. We owe so much to our earlier generation - who were heroes.
And I think we can defeat the religious and racist extremists also. I believe that as a society, our people do not like racists. And they get voted out in the polls. If you observe the winning and losing trends in our elections over the past 60 years, the racists have usually lost the elections. But people change over time. Who are the racists and extremists now? Just observe the voting trends again.
Anyway this is what is happening to Turkey and how they are taking their earliest steps into the Club Of Doom.

- ranking 44th out of 65 countries
- real problems, are being brushed aside
- still classes of 50-60 students, schools have no labs, libraries, sports halls
- school in Diyarbakir, offering only elective religious classes, claimed implausibly that there was no demand for any other electives at the school.
