WHO IS THE MOST LIKELY LIAR - NAJIB, KJ OR IZZAH? Anwar's daughter lying about Najib offering Anwar DPM post
PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar may have spun a fable about her father rejecting an offer to be deputy prime minister after the last general election, according to Khairy Jamaluddin.
The Umno Youth chief saw no reason for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to make such a proposition to opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.
"The prime minister has nothing to gain by giving such a ridiculous offer after the last general election, which we won with a clear majority," he told reporters today.
"Why (would Najib) want to offer (the) DPM (post) to a loser (in GE13)?" he questioned.
As for Nurul's claim, Khairy described it as something which he found “extremely difficult to believe”.
The youth and sports minister also claimed that Nurul does not always speak the truth.
"She has a record of saying things which are not true.
"She won her Lembah Pantai seat, largely thanks to a lie made one or two days before the election against (her rival) Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin," he alleged.
Nong Chik had sued Nurul for defamation. Following this, the latter settled the case by expressing "regret" for making the allegation.
Khairy also questioned how come the so-called offer was not raised during the past two years.
"She can't be irresponsible to just simply make a claim like that," he added.
'Anwar not honest with Pakatan?'
Similarly, former PKR Youth exco member Fakhrul Azman Abu Bakar questioned why the alleged offer to Anwar was not made public before.
"If it is true the offer was made and Anwar did not reveal it to the Pakatan Rakyat leadership, then he was not honest with Pakatan," he said.
Fakhrul added that the allegation was aimed at sowing suspicion among the ranks of Umno particularly those aligned to current Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
On another matter, Khairy urged Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali to contest in the Chempaka state seat by-election if he was so concerned about it.
"After all, he lost in the (last) general election and holds no seat," he added with sarcasm.
Ibrahim had lambasted Kelantan Umno over the suggestion not to contest the seat and focus on flood repair works instead.
The Chempaka seat fell vacant following the demise of PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat. - M'kini
