Zunar ARRESTED for sedition over 'reward' for Anwar judges from political masters

Zunar ARRESTED for sedition over 'reward' for Anwar judges from political masters
Police arrested cartoonist Zunar for sedition over a tweet on the judiciary, seemingly related to the Anwar Ibrahim sodomy verdict this afternoon.
"Police are at my house now to arrest me. They say they will bring me to a magistrate tomorrow for remand," he told Malaysiakini.
The five police personnel arrived at his house in Kuala Lumpur at about 9pm tonight.
He will spend the night in the Dang Wangi police lock-up.
Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar in a tweet earlier gave instructions to "trace and investigate" Zunar over a remark on Twitter.
Zunar had tweeted: "The lackeys in black robes are proud about their sentence. The reward from political masters must be plenty."
Khalid who also reproduced the remarks, said Zunar , too, was courting police action.
"PCIRC, please trace and investigate," he wrote.
The cartoonist who is already facing sedition investigations for his work is non-plussed.
"Go ahead (and investigate). I made a general statement which applies to all judges anywhere in the world.
"The IGP should stop sitting in his office tweeting and go down to hear what people feel about the judiciary's and police's credibility.
"People in the villages may not be tweeting it, but they sure are saying the same," he told Malaysiakini earlier.
It is understood that a police report was lodged over Zunar's tweet in Cheras this morning.
Khalid had earlier also instructed that PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli and DAP's Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming face investigations over their respective tweets.
In a Twitter posting, Khalid told the Police Cyber Investigation Response Centre (PCIRC) to investigate PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli’s and cartoonist Zunar's tweet.
“PCIRC, investigate this tweet which attempts to incite the rakyat into believing that the judges were paid,” tweeted Khalid.
Khalid earlier aim at Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming for the latter's remarks on the social media.
Nga had tweeted: “The rakyat’s prayer did not come true. It is time to oppose a cruel regime.”
Khalid, who reproduced Nga’s comment, said the politician was courting trouble.
“This person is deliberately courting action from the police. We will take action under the Sedition Act,” said Khalid.
Nga had made the remark shortly after the Federal Court today upheld Anwar’s guilty verdict for sodomising his former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.
The Federal Court also maintained his five-year jail sentence.
Anwar has been brought to the Sungai Buloh prison where he is expected to serve his sentence. - M'kini
