The girl was believed to have been playing at the escalator when the incident occurred at 3.04pm.
Dang Wangi police chief ACP Zainol Samah said the girl, Nurhayada Sofia Musa, came to the mall with her parents. She died on the spot due to serious head injury.
"The actual cause of the incident is still under investigation. Initial probe found no signs of foul play."
Zainol said the case was classified as sudden death and the girl's body was taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem. – Bernama
