With some quarters calling for the prime minister to step down from office and with the PM saying he has the people's support, he says he should stay on.
Perhaps, he could hold the fort for many more years to the extent of breaking Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's record of 22 years in office.
Well, that support was given during the last general election in 2013, and it was two years ago – things can change.
Now, those who had voted for the PM in Pekan, Pahang, may have changed their minds, particularly when so many pot shots (allegations and controversies and malice) have been hurled at the PM from those asking him to clear up matters or to resign as PM.
To prove that the PM still has the support of the people from his constituency and that Barisan Nasional is not affected by these allegations, controversies and malice against the PM, why not call a snap general election?
Of course, there are no fears of a snap general election when it is intended to clear things up once and for all.
Why not? There is nothing to lose!
