BOMBSHELL: Pas will support Umno on issues of Islam, the Malays & REDELINEATION

BOMBSHELL: Pas will support Umno on issues of Islam, the Malays & REDELINEATION
PAS will be friendly with Umno on selected issues like those related to Islam, the Malays and redelineation, says former central committee member Datuk Mujahid Yusof Rawa.
In other words, he said, PAS will support Umno policies like the redelineation process on the excuse that it would strengthen Malay or Islamic seats and also on Islam, so that the Islamist party can push its hudud agenda.
"Others would be issues like conspiracies alleging there is Christianisation and attempts to destroy Malay power. They will buy the issues as part of their reason to talk to Umno.
"So to me, PAS joining Umno is almost impossible. But it will be very selective with its friendliness with Umno," he told reporters during a visit by the Nibong Tebal DAP division to his office today.
PAS recently ended ties with DAP after the two locked horns over the hudud issue. At its muktamar last month, all pro-Pakatan Rakyat and progressive members were ousted from leadership positions by the conservative ulama faction.

The ousted progressive leaders, including former PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu and Mujahid, and with the support of non-governmental groups and civil society, are now considering forming a new party that would be an alternative to PAS.
Mujahid was also asked what he thought of PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang saying The Wall Street Journal's allegations about Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak must be supported by the testimonies of four witnesses, which is a shariah law principle; and spiritual leader Datuk Dr Haron Din saying the allegation was illogical.
"I look at the issue based on principle, not because of what they both said.
"When there is an accusation against a person who holds a high position like the prime minister, with accusations and evidences said to point to transactions of money into Najib accounts, he has to sue WSJ if he is innocent.
"That is the least you can say. Or you can say Najib has to deny ownership of the accounts. To say four witnesses must be presented, you need to look at the evidence of proof in Islam," he said.
Mujahid said there many ways of proving a crime, not just by supplying four witnesses, which was needed in cases related to a person's honour, like in adultery allegations.
A bank worker who knows of the transaction or even Bank Negara could also be witnesses, he said, while circumstantial evidence linking Najib to 1MDB was also accepted in Islam.
"A person can also be charged so that evidence, which is not available when the accusation is made, could be found to prove the offence. So if Najib is being accused, he has to provide answers.
"The strongest evidence in Islamic law is a confession. Who knows if during this month of Ramadan, one may repent and confess," he said in jest.
Last week, the WSJ reported that government investigators found a money trail of some RM2.6 billion from 1MDB into Najib's personal bank accounts.
Hadi was quoted as saying earlier this week that the allegations against Najib's should be supported by four witnesses.
Mujahid also said he wondered why Najib would not deny the accounts were, his instead of saying that he never took the money for personal use. – TMI
