FREE YOURSAY ‘What on earth is she doing depositing RM2m in cash?’

Rosmah's lawyer denies cash in bank from 1MDB

Aries46: What is wrong with this couple? When you ask him if RM2.6 billion was transferred into his account, he says he never used it for personal use.

When you ask her why RM2 million was deposited into her account, she says the money is not from 1MDB.

And they seem to have equally blur lawyers straddling around the mulberry bush to do their clients’ bidding. At this rate, the exposes doesn't look to end any time soon.

Dont Just Talk: After working 35 years for a corporate company and until today, there is no one generous enough to deposit RM2 million into my account.

Yet Rosmah Mansor, who claims to be unemployed and as FLOM (First Lady of Malaysia) for less than two terms, suddenly found RM2 million credited to her account, which might come from her savings.

We must have been working hard but not smart, which is the reason for our failure in life.

CQ Muar: Denial, denial and more denial from PM Najib Razak, and now Rosmah's lawyer with regard to money being deposited into her personal account.

In the most recent revelation, it was alleged RM2 million went into her Affin Bank account, whereby the task force admitted they already knew of such transactions even before the expose bySarawak Report.

What a mad, mad world this nation has become - saturated with nothing except disgraceful breaking news on a daily basis.

With such a prime minister and his family capturing the headlines so often, what hope and where are we heading for, I wonder.

Malaysian Born: This is not about the opposition or even about 1MDB. PM aside, what on earth is his wife doing depositing RM2 million cash into her bank account?

There is no need to deflect the issue by talking about the right to privacy or to question if it is linked to a scandal. This is far too much money for her to be having and an absurd amount to receive in cash.

It's the sort of thing that makes it very difficult for us to give them the benefit of doubt.

Abasir: Two simple questions for Umno politicians and their wives:

1. Where do you find these language-challenged law firms who specialise in ranting and seeking clarification rather than suing?

2. What is your secret to the endless flow of deposits into your accounts?

Speaking Sense: Whether from 1MDB or not, the fact is it is an unusual amount of money to go into the account of a PM's wife. So the obvious question is, where did it come from, if this is true?

Odysseus: It's so easy to trap these desperate people. By acknowledging the RM2 million is there but not from 1MDB, it's enough for the task force to investigate the source of the funds.

Straw poll shows public doesn't trust task force

Damaged Goods: Let's look at it in a logical way. Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz did not say a word when large sums of money were allegedly deposited into Najib's bank accounts in 2013.

Therefore is it in her interest now to confirm that the money was actually deposited into those accounts? If she has any sense of integrity she should not even agree to be in the task force.

From the past actions and proclamations of the IGP and the AG, it is not difficult to conclude that they too are not perceived to be independent. On the same score, the only one I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt to is the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) chief.

However, as he as well as the others are answerable and report to the principal protagonist in this investigation, he too cannot be perceived to be independent. So how can there be credible findings from such a task force.

Maplesyrup: I am disappointed with Zeti. She has access to the information but she chose to play cute with Malaysians. She has betrayed us, and showed that while her perks are paid by taxpayers, but her allegiance is only to the PM.

Is this how she took her oath of office - to swear allegiance to politicians but not the country? The only decent thing she can do now is to resign.

Headhunter: There you are. This is exactly how most of us feel right now. The task force is made up of people who are also partially responsible for the debacle. The central bank governor has failed miserably in her job.

As for the IGP, he would willingly jump from Petronas towers if Najib ask him to. They are being asked to investigate themselves.

CiViC: Ever thought of it that if he does go on leave, he will be going on the government's new luxurious private jet together with his wife for another shopping spree, spending more of taxpayers' money. You think they care?
Speaking Sense: The last days of any autocratic regime is when that regime becomes totally out of touch with the sentiments, concerns and suffering of the people.

This is now happening with the Umno aristocracy and its coterie of BN lapdogs. We can almost heard them saying in cabinet - let them eat cake if they cannot afford rice. -Mkini
