PLOT TO STOP DR MAHATHIR FROM GOING TO PARLIAMENT TODAY

PLOT TO STOP DR MAHATHIR FROM GOING TO PARLIAMENT TODAY
GEORGE TOWN - Four non-governmental organisations (NGO) have lodged police reports to stop former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad from being present at Parliament tomorrow to avoid untoward incidents.
The NGOs’ representative, Jahangir Abdul Sukkur, said it was learnt that Dr Mahathir would attend Parliament tomorrow to attend an event which could lead to an ugly incident just like the one at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) recently.
Jahangir, who is also the Persatuan Anak Muda Pulau Pinang (PAMPP) chairman, added that Dr Mahathir should have stopped provoking the country’s leadership as it could lead to further unrest amongst the people.
“The reason we are lodging this report is because we got to know that Dr Mahathir would be attending a programme which would be held at the Parliament tomorrow despite not being invited.
“We do not wish for a similar rowdy incident when Dr Mahathir was present during a dialogue session with NGOs which had tarnished the reputation and good name of those involved,” he told reporters after lodging the report at the Northeast District police headquarters here today.

Besides PAMPP, three other NGOs which lodged reports included Persatuan Anak Muda Negeri Kedah; Persatuan Pembela Insan Parlimen Kepala Batas and Persatuan Jati Diri Melayu.
Meanwhile, Jahangir said it was regrettable and upsetting that Dr Mahathir and his allies had continuously criticised Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s leadership.
“It is funny and ironic at the same time as Dr Mahathir has many unanswered issues himself during his term in office including his son’s extraordinary business accomplishments,” added Jahangir. - Therakyatpost
