Selangor water deal may be finalised after Aidilfitri, says deputy minister

Energy, Green Technology and Water Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said the Selangor water restructuring agreement could be finalised before Aidilfitri.

"Only one more matter needs to be resolved," he told reporters without elaborating.

He said the ministry's officers met with state officers last week over the matter.

"We have been waiting for two years for the Selangor government's decision. When the deal is done, the Langat 2 water treatment plant project would proceed," he said after presenting aid in conjunction with Ramadan in Kuala Nerang, Kedah, today.

Mahdzir hoped that there would not be any rationing exercise during Aidilfitri.

"We hope there won't be any rationing although it is up to the Selangor government," he said. – Bernama
