No honour among crooks, says Rahman Dahlan

Pemerhati: BN strategic communications director Abdul Rahman Dahlan implies that The Edge Media Group owner Tong Kooi Ong and publisher Ho Kay Tat are crooks because they did not pay former PetroSaudi International executive Xavier Andre Justo for the 1MDB information after earlier agreeing to pay him.

It is possible they had learned to do this from the leader of the country and Abdul Rahman’s boss, PM Najib Razak. Najib has been doing this sort of thing frequently.

For instance, he got private eye P Balasubramaniam (who revealed very damaging information on the Najib-Altantuya Shaariibuu relationship) to leave the country and he was promised a lot of money but the promised amount was not given.

Najib also promised P Waythamoorthy of Hindraf a lot of things for the upliftment of the poor Indian Malaysians but reneged on that promise and this prompted Waythamoorthy to quit his post in the government in disgust.

Tong however differs from Najib in that he is truthful and admits to misleading Justo but Najib has never said that he misled Bala or Waytha. As a crook, Najib is way ahead of Tong as he is strongly linked to a murder and has allegedly stolen billions.

Apa Ini?: While it was dishonourable of Tong to have promised and not paid up, that's a drop in the ocean of dishonour that the 1MDB crooks have created and inflicted on Malaysia.

All this talk of honour from Abdul Rahman is pure hypocrisy and a distraction from the big question: where are the missing billions?

Hello: Granted Tong did not pay Justo for the disk of information, but this is between him and Justo.

Now between the people of Malaysia and Najib, answer the question posed by the various news reports on the transfer of RM2.6 billion in your account. Don't just send your hounds to snarl and scare the messengers.

Jaycee: Yes, what about the biggest group of crooks who stole the rakyat money? They are not hauled up for questioning or banned from leaving the country or their bank accounts frozen.

Sali Tambap: There is no honour among thieves. And we know who they are, the real big time thieves.

Abdul Rahman shoots himself in the foot every time he opens his mouth. What's the matter with this man? Is he an imbecile or something?
Before this, he said not to shoot the messenger which his colleague, the home minister, just did the opposite by shutting them (newspaper) down to shut them up.

And oh boy, how he tried to shoot down MP Tony Pua. He claimed not to be born yesterday but in all intent and purpose, Abdul Rahman showed us that indeed he was.

SRMan: Crook or no crook, honour or no honour, at least The Edgeowner Tong has come clean on the Justo's issue. Abdul Rahman, what about your boss, Najib?

It's already three weeks since the bombshell revelation of RM2.6 billion. He has not even given us a simple and explicit reply as to whether the money was actually channelled into his personal bank accounts.

Whatever reasons your boss may proffer to the rakyat in future regarding the money, it would all be academic. For many, it is as clear as daylight that he stole the money belonging to the rakyat. And what this makes him to be? Does he have any honour?

Speaking Sense: So Abdul Rahman believes looking for the truth by The Edge is worse than those paying liars to make false confessions to deceive the people and protect real criminals?

Mushiro: Justo has always maintained that he sold the emails, as they were, without any tampering.  Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad claims that it was not possible to tamper with all the 1MDB/PetroSaudi emails and this is very logical.

The only way for Abdul Rahman to discredit Sarawak Report, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and The Edge is to prove that tampering did take place and so far, he cannot prove this.

Yes, "there is no honour among crooks," but to many, the crooks are the ones who embezzled the 1MDB funds.

Jesse: Where is the honour when you use arbitrary powers to curb freedom of information? Malaysians are entitled to know the truth.

How about some honour from your boss and yourself and tell us the truth instead of suppressing information and oppressing the rakyat with sedition and banning them from international travel.

All we are interested in is the truth, not spins and engineered confessions.

Negarawan: Abdul Rahman needs to be sent back to school to learn about basic morals. He was probably not paying attention to his parents and teachers in school.

He needs to learn that stealing RM2.6 billion in public funds and putting that into one's private accounts is wrong.

He needs to learn that concocting lies to protect a criminal is wrong. He needs to learn that cajoling two bankrupts to make untruthful and malicious videos is wrong.

Ren Ai: Still, I am disappointed with The Edge in how they cheated Justo. Two wrongs do not a right make.

Malaysia-boho-leh: One side takes pride in uncovering the truth, the other in covering up. We all know which is which. After all, we were not born yesterday. -Mkini
